"Wigan Casino, After the Fire" from Northern Soul Art

 A few years ago a customer commissioned Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson to paint a water colour painting of Wigan Casino based on the iconic photograph of Casino DJ Russ Winstanley standing in the debris of the club just a few days after the fire of 1982. The painting was completed and was fittingly called "There's a Ghost in My House." Instead of the burnt wreckage, ghostly dancers are shown on the dance floor. The Nite Owl looks down on the dancers from up in the rafters! 

"Wigan Casino After the Fire" comprises of 5 items - an original watercolour painting entitled "Ghost Girl" by Neil Thompson which has been mounted, using a cream mount, and backed - fits directly into an A4 frame. There's also an A4 print of the final painting "There's a Ghost in My House". Also included are three photographs, a photograph of Wigan Casino on fire with a fire engine outside, the second photograph shows Russ Winstanley standing in the wreckage of the burned out club and the third photograph shows the start of the demolition of the club with the dance floor removed.

The three black and white photographs are all 7 inches by 5 inches.

A Certificate of Authenticity is included with both the painting and the print.
