Soul Girl in Ink - a Sumi-e Black Ink Brush Painting, Mounted and Framed. Overall size, 11 inches tall by 9 inches wide.

"Soul Girl in Ink" is a Sumi-e Black Ink Brush Painting by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson. 

 

The painting shows a sole Northern Soul girl out on the floor, lost to the music.

 

Sumi-e brush paintings use black ink in different concentrations in the Japanese style. The ink and brushes are similar to those used in calligraphy.

 

The painting has been completed on textured art paper, mounted using a classic ivory mount and framed using a black box frame.

 

The overall size with the frame is 11 inches tall by 9 inches wide. The box frame is 1.25 inches deep. The painting itself  measures 7.5 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide and has been completed on 250 gram A4 textured art paper.

 

The painting can be wall hung, and the frame has a stand to display on a flat surface.

 

As an original painting, it is of course, unique!! There are no copies or prints.

 

"Soul Girl in Ink" comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, and has Neil Thompson's logo, the dancing girl printed on the reverse - please see images 4 and 5.
