"Girl in a Black Dress" is an original pencil sketch by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson. 

The sketch shows a lone girl in a black dress on a dance floor. Arms outstretched, feet moving to the beat - this is a Northern Soul Girl!

Neil has been into the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's, all his art is drawn from memory. He was a regular at the Casino  and many other Northern Soul clubs throughout the 1970's. His art is regarded by many people as an iconic part of the Northern Soul scene.

The sketch has been completed on 250 gram art paper, and measures 18 cm tall by 12 cm wide. The sketch has been mounted using a classic ivory mount, and framed using a slim New Yorker style black frame. The overall size with the frame is 22 cm tall by 17 cm wide.

The sketch can be wall hung (image 1), or the frame has a stand to display on any flat surface (image 2).
