The painting shows a scene outside Wigan Casino. Coaches have arrived, the crowd is growing, the atmosphere is beginning to build. It happened every Saturday night before the start of an all nighter. Just looking at the painting and you could be back there! Neil has been part of the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's. He's visited many Northern Soul clubs and was a regular at the Casino during the 1970's. All his art is done from memory, he doesn't need to use old photographs - he was there in the glory days of Northern Soul!
