"The Girl at the Casino"

An original water colour painting of a girl dancing at Wigan Casino.

"The Girl at the Casino" is an original signed water colour painting by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson. 

The painting focuses on a girl dancing on the hallowed dance floor at Wigan Casino. Neil has used just two colours, black and white, to pick out the intricate details of the movements of the girl and the dancers around her. Just looking at the painting and you could be back there! Do you know the girl??

Neil has been part of the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's. He's visited many Northern Soul clubs and was a regular at the Casino during the 1970's. All his art is done from memory, he doesn't need to use old photographs - he was there in the glory days of Northern Soul!

The painting is one of Neil's smaller works, measures 17 cm tall by 13 cm tall and has been completed on 250 gram art paper.

This is an original piece of art, there are no copies or prints.
