"Backdrop"

A signed, original pencil sketch, mounted and framed.

"Backdrop" is an original pencil sketch by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson. The sketch shows a Northern Soul Danccer down almost on his knees, hands behind him doing a backdrop. He's an accomplished dancer - like many Northern Soul fans. 

Neil has been on the Northern Soul scence since the early 1970's. He was a regular at all the top clubs - Wigan Casino, The Torch and Blackpool's Highland Room. All his art is done from memory - he's studied the clubs and the dancers - hence the detail in "Backdrop."

The sketch has been mounted using a matt black mount and framed using a slim black "New Yorker" style glazed frame.

"Backdrop" can be hung on a wall (please see image 1) or the frame has an in built stand to display on any flat surface (image 2).

"Backdrop" has been drawn on 250 gram fine art paper.

The size of the sketch is 5.75 inches wide by 4 inches tall, with the mount and the frame the overall size is 8.75 inches tall by 6.75 inches wide.
