"Arriving at Wigan Casino Preparatory Pencil Sketch" is an original pencil sketch by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson. 

The sketch shows the crowds gathering before an all-nighter at Wigan Casino. Teenagers with hold alls and record bags crowd the pavement in front of the club. Coaches are parked up with Northern Soul fans who have made the journey heading to the entrance to the club. Back in the 1970's this is how it was - the best nights ever!

The sketch is a preparatory work for Neil's oil painting "Arriving at Wigan Casino."

Neil has been into the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's, all his art is drawn from memory. He was a regular at Wigan Casino and many other Northern Soul clubs throughout the 1970's. His art is regarded by many people as an iconic part of the Northern Soul scene.

The sketch has been completed on 150 gram art paper, and measures 38 cm wide by 24 cm tall.
