"Moving in the Groove" is an original oil painting on canvas board by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson.  

The painting shows a scene on a packed Northern Soul dance floor. Over 40 dancers are out on the floor dancing their own interpretation to the beat of the music. The colours are vibrant - the painting brings to life the energy of Northern Soul. Eveery brushstroke carries the energy! Just looking at the painting and you could be on that dance floor!!

"Moving in the Groove" measures 12 inches wide by 12 inches tall and has been completed on a canvas panel.

Neil has been into the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's, all his art is drawn from memory. He was a regular at the Casino and many other Northern Soul clubs throughout the 1970's. His art is regarded by many people as an iconic part of the Northern Soul scene.
