"Moving in the Groove, Prep" is an original pencil sketch on art paper by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson.  

The sketch shows a scene on a packed Northern Soul dance floor. Over 40 dancers are out on the floor dancing their own interpretation to the beat of the music. The details are intricate and exact - Neil captures the life and energy of Northern Soul. Just looking at the sketch and you could be on that dance floor!!

"Moving in the Groove, Prep" measures 31cm wide by 31cm tall and has been completed on 250 gram art paper.

As the name suggests, the sketch is a preparatory work for Neil's oil painting entitled "Moving in the Groove."

Neil has been into the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's, all his art is drawn from memory. He was a regular at the Casino and many other Northern Soul clubs throughout the 1970's. His art is regarded by many people as an iconic part of the Northern Soul scene.

"Moving in the Groove, Prep" comes with a Certificate of Authenticity - please see image 5.

The sketch will be sent by Royal Mail, securely packaged.
