An original pencil sketch from the balcony looking down at the  dancers out on the floor at the Casino.

"All Nighter at the Casino, Preparatory Pencil Sketch" is an original signed pencil sketch by Northern Soul artist Neil Thompson. 

The sketch shows a scene from the balcony looking down to the dancers out on the floor at Wigan Casino.  Using a variety of shading techniques, Neil captures both the movement of the dancers and the subtle shadows of the club in this sketch, bringing to life the energy of the Casino and Northern Soul. Looking at the sketch and you could be back there!! 

Neil has been part of the Northern Soul scene since the early 1970's. He's visited many Northern Soul clubs and was a regular at the Casino during the 1970's. All his art is done from memory, he doesn't need to use old photographs - he was there in the glory days of Northern Soul!

The sketch measures 33 cm wide by 23 cm tall and has been completed on 200 gram art paper.

The sketch is a preparatory work for Neil's oil painting of the same title, "All Nighter at the Casino."
